Salute Selma: Commemorating 60 Years of Bloody Sunday, the Selma-to-Montgomery March, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965

Join us in 2025 as we honor the courage and sacrifice of those who marched for justice, leading to the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This historic weekend will unite civil rights leaders, advocates, and supporters to reflect, celebrate progress, and inspire the continued fight for equality. Our Mission

Salute Selma, Inc. was founded as a nonprofit and organized as a 501 (c)(3) organization. Our commitment is to offer leadership experiences that enhance the knowledge, respect and observance of the Selma Voting Rights Movement through humanitarianism, arts and education, health and wellness, political and economic empowerment

Founded to uphold the values that propelled the fight for equality, we are dedicated to breaking down systemic barriers and expanding opportunities for those who need them most.

Sheroes of Selma

Sheroes of Selma aired on the Viacom Networks and was a half-hour documentary on the women of Selma Bridge Crossing, who shared stories on their life growing up in Selma, Alabama, and what it was like to grow up with women such as Amelia Boynton Robinson who was actually on the front lines fighting for equal voting rights. This documentary features Amelia Boynton Robinson, Annie Pearl Avery, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Kelly Price as it commemorates the 600 plus brave men and women who risked their lives to fight against injustice and for equality during the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday and the Selma to Montgomery March.

We Remember, aired on the Viacom Networks,  and was an hour and a half television special documentary concert commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday and the Selma to Montgomery March. The televised show comprised remarks by President Barack Obama, Congressman John Lewis, and other grassroots foot soldiers and civic leaders interwoven with historical footage, photography and performances.
